Air Berlin AB 7001 flight pilot Miami-Düsseldorf with an impressive maneuver over the airfield completed the last long-haul flight in the history of the airline
On October 15, during an approach in Dusseldorf, the Airbus A330 made a low flight over the runway, then turned toward the terminal and made a honor lap at a low altitude.
“Today is the last time I greet you after landing in Düsseldorf. On behalf of the crew and my colleagues, on earth and in the air, I would like to thank you for keeping loyalty to us for many years. Thanks to the crew, and I express my respect for the professional performance of their duties during the last flight. Today, we are not saying “Goodbye,” but “Goodbye.” Do everything well and take care of yourself, ”said Flight Commander AB 7001 in his last greeting.

A similar farewell maneuver at Dusseldorf Airport was filmed from several angles at once. After leaving the second round of the aircraft successfully completed landing.

Air Berlin will stop its medium-haul flights by the end of October.
Created in 1978 as an American airline, because before the unification of Germany, flights from West Berlin could be operated by airlines with registration in the United States, France and Britain. He made his first flight in April 1979. During this time, Air Berlin from a small charter company became the second largest airline in Germany, second only to the giant Lufthansa.
However, increased competition in the market led to the loss of Air Berlin. In recent years, the airline’s costs have been borne by the investor, the airline Etihad from the UAE. After Etihad refused to provide further financial assistance, Air Berlin filed a claim for insolvency.
In order for the air carrier not to stop flights immediately, the German government issued a loan of 150 million euros to the airline, which was approved by the European Commission.
Air Berlin is currently in talks with Lufthansa and EasyJet to sell assets. It is assumed that Lufthansa will buy some units and Niki, which is part of the Air Berlin group, and EasyJet will take part of the Air Berlin fleet.
